Beginning

Some say the art of blogging is dead, so I’ve decided to start one. Because when I jump on a bandwagon, I jump hard…onto an empty wagon…where everyone else has already jumped three carts over. I don’t get memos. I still read from paper books and sometimes take my iPod nano (2nd generation) on trips. I’m not cool but I think I have something to say.

I want to write to encourage others to see God’s grace and live to glorify Him. I want to make Jesus look desirable to a society who seems to believe He is not. I want people to find hope in Him and I want people to rest in His faithfulness. He is good.

That is the story behind my blog. I think what I am most thankful for along the way is learning to depend confidently on Him. I better understand the importance of asking Him what to pray for and allowing Him to guide my next step.

No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give it to you.
-John 15:14-16

Jesus is faithful. Even when I didn’t – and don’t – have much faith in myself, he remains faithful.

If we are faithless, he remains faithful – for he cannot deny himself.
-2 Timothy 2:13

  1. I love the name of your blog and your featured quote. Kudos for beginning. Kudos for your reason for beginning.

I began for the same reason around 2008. I’m in the challenge to get to the next level, wherever that takes me. I’m behind (on the challenge,) but I’m not quitting. Keep up the good work!

  2. Oh my dear, how you made me smile! I love love love your picture of jumping hard into an empty wagon. Rhonda, I can completely relate. I have an old blogger blog that I was an absolute screwball with. I want to be serious so I decided I would self host and use WordPress. YIKES! I know so little about WordPress that my blog is beyond plain. It’s okay though. I can and will get there one post at a time.
    Love this:
If we are faithless, he remains faithful – for he cannot deny himself.

There is one thing, I totally do trust in Him. That is the one thing I can count on.
Thanks for visiting my blog. You blessed me.

  3. Thank you for stopping by and thank you for the kind words! I have also used blogger before as well. It does seem easier but I know this is better. I can completely relate to you in that I have very little knowledge of what I’m doing over here in WordPress. But we will get it! 🙂 Thanks again for taking the time to read!
